Western Bulldogs captain Bob Murphy is due to play his 283rd game this weekend against St Kilda, drawing level with Club great Tony Liberatore in seventh spot for most games in the Club’s history.
The pair sit behind only Brad Johnson (364 games), Chris Grant (341), Doug Hawkins (329), Scott West (324), Ted Whitten (321) and Rohan Smith (300).
Murphy’s career has spanned 16 seasons with the 33-year-old set to play on in 2016 after recently signing a one-year contract.
His 17th season should see him reach the 300-game milestone, and becoming only the seventh player at the Western Bulldogs to do so.
Murphy was drafted from the Gippsland Power with pick 13 in the 1999 National AFL Draft and was named All-Australian in 2011.
