The Bulldogs playing group battled 30 degree heat during an intense match simulation session, as they hit the halfway point of their pre-season camp.
The camp, focused on training in the heat, gave the Bulldogs their wish as they trained through the hottest part of the day.
Forward Koby Stevens said although a tough session, the group showed a high level of intensity.
“It’s definitely one of the more intense sessions, we’ve had some pretty cool weather back in Melbourne so to get up here and do a lot of match sim (simulation)… it was really intense.
“The boys were pretty sharp considering how warm it was, and were running really well.”
The training camp has encompassed a range activities including match simulation sessions, skills, weights and water activities, all designed to help the Dogs adapt to tougher conditions.
However Stevens said that following a big off-season where a new coach and ten new players were welcomed into the Club, it was also important to bring the group together and bond.
“We’ve brought in a new coach and a lot of new guys this year so it’s great to get up here, we were able to bond, get down our game plan and spend ten days together.
“It’s great for our bonding and great for team morale.”
