New recruit Josh Prudden credits his Assumption College Coach - Bulldogs Brownlow Medallist Scott Wynd - for giving life to his AFL dream, after being selected in last Thursday’s NAB AFL Draft.

Playing just seven games for TAC Cup side Murray Bushrangers, Prudden went largely under the radar this season but a tip off from Wynd helped Bulldogs’ recruiters uncover a potential gem.

“It was a very big surprise and a surprise to go so early at number 50,” Prudden said.

“I suppose he  (Scott Wynd) had a little bit to do with it… he really helped me through the way.”

Prudden was given a boost when his name was read out by the Club at pick 50, excited to not only get drafted but see his name called earlier than anticipated.

“With some family friends and there were plenty of tears shed, as there would be for a lot of the other guys too, but yeah it was a great feeling,” he said.

A midfielder that can also play through defence, the 18-year-old has accurate foot skills and a willingness to put his head over the ball in a contest.
