It didn’t take long for Luke Kennedy’s best friends to pledge their allegiance to the Western Bulldogs.
Sporting knock-off Bulldogs’ kits in Bali just days after Kennedy was drafted to the Kennel, it didn’t take long for the near-viral photo of his friends to circulate online.
“They must have just gone to a store and picked it up for 15 cents,” Kennedy said.
Love this. A few Ormond U19 players were in Bali when Monder Luke Kennedy was drafted by the Western Bulldogs on Thursday night. They were quick to fox up some jumpers and send a message to the club's 2023 senior best and fairest. pic.twitter.com/eyiKGyiRL2

“All my mates are in Bali – they went the day of (draft).
“It was a bit of a shame (they weren’t there on draft night)... I love them and can’t wait to see them when they come back.”
Kennedy was selected with the Bulldogs’ final pick on Thursday night, and on Monday found himself touring Mission Whitten Oval, meeting his fellow teammates and getting stuck into day one of pre-season.
“It’s unbelievable. I still can’t believe it,” the 18-year-old said.
“It’s sinking in right now, obviously being here at the club on the first day.
“It’s pretty rare that you get to do your dream job at 18. Meeting everyone – they just make you so comfortable.”
One in particular Kennedy is looking forward to learning from is fan favourite Tom Liberatore.
“Libba’s one for sure. He’s a great dude – he introduced himself to me earlier.
“I can’t wait to get to work with him.”
