The Western Bulldogs are set for a blockbuster start, going head to head with Collingwood and Essendon in the opening 2013 NAB Cup clash at Etihad Stadium.

Scheduled for Friday 15th February 2013, the NAB Cup format will replicate 2012’s lightning premiership style matches in round one before reverting to full length matches in the next two rounds.

The Dogs round two match sees them play off against Grand Finalists Hawthorn in another Friday night Etihad Stadium battle, while they will travel to Northam, Western Australia in round three to face Fremantle.

Their qualification into the NAB Cup Grand Final will be determined from the results of the initial four matches with the two best performing teams progressing into the final decider
