The Casey Scorpions are the only side Footscray Bulldogs are yet to face in season 2014, but that remedied on Sunday at Highgate Recreation Reserve from 11am.
The 14th placed Scorpions have been competitive over the past month posting wins against the Northern Blues (10th) and Bendigo Gold (16th), as well as a narrow loss to Frankston (13th).
Placed second on the VFL ladder, Footscray have won 10 of their past 11 outings and will be looking to continue that momentum into the impending finals series.
Jordan Russell has continued his strong vein of form as the Bulldogs’ marshall in defence, having played in all 16 games this season alongside Ayce Cordy and Alex Greenwood.
Meanwhile Daniel Pearce has been named for his second consecutive game after making his comeback from a knee injury in last week’s 40-point win against Werribee.
The final Footscray side will be confirmed following the announcement of the AFL team’s final 22 at 5:00pm Friday evening.
