While Luke Dahlhaus earned the praise from the media pundits, taking home the Rose-Sutton Medal in Sunday’s 21-point win over Collingwood, it was the Bulldogs’ acting skipper Easton Wood that gained the unanimous support of the coaches as best on ground in the round 10 match.
The 26-year-old was one of four Bulldogs to poll votes in the match.
Wood earned the maximum votes from Senior Coaches Luke Beveridge and Nathan Buckley for his influential 21 disposal and 13 mark performance across half-back.
It was also Wood that struck a pivotal blow in the contest of the match, slotting an inspirational long range goal at the 12 minute mark of the final term, that extended his side’s advantage beyond one kick for the first time in the game.
Dahlhaus polled five votes from the coaches for his equal career-high 37 disposal performance, while Jack Macrae and Dale Morris also received votes.
