Young gun, Mitch Wallis, paid tribute to his mum, Sue, this week in the lead up to Mothers’ Day.
Mitch was on hand for the announcement that Sue will have her name commemorated on the Queen Victoria Women’s Centre Shilling Wall in recognition of her great support for Mitch and of course her husband - former Bulldog great Steve Wallis.

“She’s the heart and soul of the family and just makes everything work… Not only is she my mum but she’s a really good friend as well,” said a proud Mitch.
Sue has been a tower of strength and support in the Wallis household having supported Steve through his 200-game career as Bulldogs skipper and, now, son Mitch who is at the beginning of his own AFL journey.
Sue’s name will be added to the wall in recognition of her and thousands of women’s contribution to footy - our great national game.
The Shilling Wall and Garden, surrounding the Queen Victoria Women’s Centre heritage building, provides a place to commemorate and reflect on inspiring women.
The glass wall is an enduring tribute to women and is inscribed with the names of incredible women; celebrating their roles as mothers, grandmothers, caregivers, sisters, friends, colleagues and community contributors.
