Let’s look back at the Bulldogs’ trade period from 10 years ago…

After finishing 13th in 2007, the Bulldogs leapt into the top four in 2008 and 2009 under coach Rodney Eade.

In back-to-back years, the Bulldogs were one win away from a grand final berth.

It was a loss to Geelong in the 2008 preliminary final, and in 2009 just seven points separated the Bulldogs and St Kilda in a thriller.

The Bulldogs made just one trade at the end of 2009, and it was a big one.

REWIND: 1999 AFL TRADES

Sydney premiership captain Barry Hall became a Bulldog.

Hall had kicked 611 goals across 250 games for the Swans and St Kilda before he donned the red, white and blue.

The Bulldogs parted with pick 47, which eventually made its way to Brisbane and was used to draft Ryan Harwood.

Hall had a major impact in his two seasons as a Bulldog.

PUPS ON THE FAST TRACK

In 2010, he earned a fourth All Australian honour having kicked 80 goals in 24 AFL matches.

The Bulldogs won the pre-season cup, but again fell short at the preliminary final stage for St Kilda.

Hall kicked another 55 goals in 2011 – from just 15 games – including 40 in his last eight.

He hung up the boots at the end of that season, after 135 goals in 39 games as a Bulldog – almost 3.5 goals per game.
