Western Bulldogs Director and former CEO Simon Garlick will relinquish his position on the Club’s Board after accepting the role of Chief Executive of the Fremantle Football Club.

Garlick was added to the Bulldogs’ Board in June this year as a football director, alongside Lisa Fitzpatrick and Belinda Duarte.

He replaces Steve Rosich at Fremantle, who departed in August after over a decade as its CEO.

“We congratulate Simon on his appointment as Fremantle CEO and wish him every success in the role,” said Bulldogs’ President Peter Gordon.

“Simon has made a valuable contribution to the Western Bulldogs over a long period of time in a number of crucial roles, and we thank him for his service.”

Garlick was the Bulldogs’ Chief Executive from 2010-15, playing a key role in building the foundation for the Club’s ultimate success in 2016.

He has since been CEO of leading sponsorship, experiential and communications agency, Bastion EBA.

He previously served as Bulldogs’ football director from 2007-10 and was also a Director of the AFL Players Association during his playing career which spanned 181 AFL games over 11 seasons with the Bulldogs and the Sydney Swans.

The Western Bulldogs will seek to replace Garlick’s position on the Club’s Board in the coming months.
