The Western Bulldogs have flagged their interest in out-of-contract Dockers utility Hayden Crozier.

Speaking on NAB AFL Trade Radio on Friday morning, Bulldogs list manager Jason McCartney said Crozier's ability to play a variety of roles appealed to the club.

"I've had some chats with Brad Lloyd about (recruiting Crozier)," McCartney said.

"We do have some interest in Hayden, he's been in the system six years but he's a young player, turns 24 at the end of the year and he's a player that was rated highly by our recruiting team back in the 2011 draft.

"He's got some attributes athletically that would really complement our group and once again he's a player that we've seen play some different roles."

The Bulldogs were the first to make a move in the trade period, securing Port Adelaide tall Jackson Trengove on the opening day of free agency.

McCartney says the Club also has some interest in Trengove's former Power teammate Jarman Impey.

"We like Jarman, we've tracked him pretty closely this year but being in contract there's a lot to play out there," McCartney said.

"Some other clubs are interested so we'd like to be able to do something there but being in contract there's a fair bit of water to go under the bridge."
