First year Bulldog Lewis Young looks set to debut this weekend after being named in the extended squad ahead of Sunday’s clash with Carlton at the MCG.
Young collected 24 disposals and took 11 marks in Footscray’s 49-point win over Sandringham in the VFL last weekend, the latest in a line of strong performances in the state league for the 18-year-old.
Young is joined by another potential debutant, Declan Hamilton, who’s also been named in the 25.
Skipper Bob Murphy and defender Shane Biggs both faced fitness tests on Thursday afternoon and have been named, as have Tory Dickson and Bailey Williams.
Matthew Boyd (achilles), Easton Wood (suspension) and Clay Smith (omitted) will all miss.
Final teams will be named at 5:00pm on Friday.
