Western Bulldogs defender Marcus Adams has avoided surgery following a foot injury suffered during Thursday night’s match against the Swans in Sydney.
Adams did not return to the field after half time, and scans have confirmed damage to ligaments in his foot, Head Physiotherapist Chris Bell told westernbuldogs.com.au today.
“Scans have confirmed that he has suffered a moderate grade injury to the Lisfranc ligaments that form the supporting structure at the arch of his foot,” Bell said.
“After specialist opinion, he does not require surgery and we will put a conservative plan around his recovery."
Bell said the 23-year old will be reassessed in six to eight weeks’ time, when the club will be able to determine a timeline for his return.
“Marcus has been put in to a CAM boot to allow the ligament to heal, and we will reassess Marcus in the next 6-8 weeks."
Adams has averaged 15 disposals, seven marks and three tackles in ten games this season.
