The Western Bulldogs today announced that 2018 AFLW listed player Jenna Bruton will leave VU Whitten Oval to pursue an opportunity at another club.
“We understand Jenna’s rationale to continue her career at another club,” said Bulldogs’ AFLW List Manager Michael Sandry.
“We would like to acknowledge the positive contribution Jenna has made to the Western Bulldogs, and we look forward to strengthening our playing list as we continue to plan for the 2019 season.”
Bulldogs’ AFLW Head Coach Paul Groves said: “Jenna played an important part in building our program during the second season of the AFLW competition, culminating in us achieve the ultimate success in 2018.
“AFLW is a changing landscape, particularly during the competition’s expansion in next couple of years.
“Jenna is Western Bulldogs premiership player and will be welcome at our Club at any time. We wish her well with her football future.”
Bruton was recruited to the Bulldogs with a second-round selection in the 2017 National Draft and played every game in her debut season, kicking three goals.
The AFL this week made an announcement regarding rules on player movement to expansion clubs, and the key dates in the lead-up to the first list lodgement for season three of the AFLW competition.
