There’ll be a combination of faces old and new running out for Footscray in this Saturday’s season-opening clash with Sandringham, at Trevor Barker Beach Oval.

Newly named co-captains Angus Monfries & Josh Prudden will lead the side out for the first time.

2017 draftee Callum Porter will play his first game in the red, white and blue, while 16 AFL-Listed players have been named in the initial squad ahead of the match.

The last time they met, the Dogs secured a 49-point victory over the Zebras- with an impressive nine goals to two second half.
