The Western Bulldogs have teamed up with The Walt Disney Company Australia and Collingwood FC to celebrate the release of Marvel Studios’ Captain Marvel, the Marvel Cinematic Universes’ first female-led super hero blockbuster, in cinemas on March 7.
The collaboration will see both the Bulldogs AFLW and Magpies AFLW teams don limited-edition Captain Marvel-inspired training guernseys ahead of the first-ever AFL Women’s double-header at Marvel Stadium, on March 9.
The Bulldogs will play Melbourne at Marvel Stadium on that day, at 7.15pm.
The guernseys have been created by Cotton On, the AFLW’s official on-field apparel partner.
As part of a global campaign for Marvel Studios’ Captain Marvel, elite athletes from across the globe are encouraging fans to create a video describing what Higher, Further, Faster means to them.
Bulldogs co-captain Katie Brennan and teammate Tiarna Ernst will take part in the campaign, alongside Magpies captain Steph Chiocci.
“To me, Higher, Further, Faster relates directly to my role as co-captain of our team, always looking to encourage, motivate and inspire my teammates and our young fans,” Bulldogs AFLW co-captain Katie Brennan said.
“As AFLW players, we constantly aim to encourage young women and girls to be the best they can be. We’re looking forward to seeing how our fans interpret Higher, Further, Faster within their videos,” Bulldogs defender Tiarna Ernst said.
The guernseys are available to purchase online here.
