Inside the numbers

- The Bulldogs held Carlton goalless from the 25-minute mark of the first term until the fourth minute of the third quarter, the Dogs putting up seven unanswered in that time to put the game out of reach.

- Up until three quarter time, twelve separate Bulldogs combined to lay 15 tackles in the forward 50, forward pressure continuing to be a highlight of the Dogs 3-1 start to the season.

- The Dogs racked up 90 more disposals than the Blues last night, continuing their dominance of the football in the opening four rounds.  The Bulldogs are averaging 456 disposals per contest, the most in the AFL.

You can quote me on that

“It’s probably the simple way to put it – a win’s a win.

“It wasn’t pretty but you have those games.

“First quarter we were a bit sluggish, the second quarter was really nice, it was almost like we lost a couple of men and were hanging on by a thread for a while, but we battled it out.”

- Jed Adcock

"Our players adapted well. I liked a lot of the things we did. We turned the ball over too easy on fast play but that's a credit to Carlton … and they probably had the better of us in that second half," he said.

"We held our nerve enough; we just squandered some turnover opportunities."

- Luke Beveridge

“Carlton were great at putting pressure on, especially through the middle.

“The game never really broke open for us, but I thought everyone stuck together really well.”

- Liam Picken
