With the AFL confirming Free Agency compensation picks on Friday, the Western Bulldogs now have six picks inside 51 in the 2012 AFL National Draft - putting the Club in the best draft position it has seen in recent history.

The Bulldogs now have picks 5, 6, 22, 44, 50 (Lachlan Hunter) and 51 at their disposal heading into the final round of trade week, with three of those selections inside the first round.

Pick 50 was used for father-son recruit Lachlan Hunter, leaving a further five picks inside 51, to add to the Western Jets father-son recruit dubbed as a “bargain” by Recruiting Manager, Simon Dalrymple.

With Brendan McCartney and his team looking to draft and develop to enhance their list, the Bulldogs are well placed to secure the services of a number of the AFL’s top prospects from around the country.
