Western Bulldogs forward Kristie-Lee Weston-Turner says making her AFLW debut this weekend will be a special moment.

One of four league debutants named for the Dogs’ Week 1 clash against GWS, the childhood Bulldogs supporter couldn’t believe how quickly everything has happened.

“It’s all happened pretty quick – I feel like pre-season went by just like that,” Weston-Turner told media on Thursday morning.

“It’s pretty special that I’ll be running out in the red, white and blue on Saturday to debut. I’m just so excited.”

The top selection in last year’s draft, the talented teenager isn’t letting any pressures of being the No.1 Pick affect her.

“I’m just going to back myself in. My coaches believe in me and I believe in myself, so I know that if I do the work behind the scenes, I’m capable of anything,” she said.

“I see my potential but there’s no expectation on me.

“I think that’s what I love most about this club – they just want me to go out there and play.

“I’m still young and I’m still learning, so I know I’ll be able to build on what I’m doing now.”

The remainder of the Week 1 team will be confirmed tonight at 6.20pm AEST.
