The Western Bulldogs have added Kaylee Kimber to their AFLW Primary List for the 2024 season.

Kimber, 20, is a former Gold Coast Sun and graduate of the Suns Academy, who was elevated to the Suns’ list as an injury replacement player in 2022.

The versatile teenager managed three games at senior level in Season 7, before being placed on the Inactive List with a foot injury last season.

Hailing from Moranbah, approximately 200km south-west of Mackay, Kimber grew up playing netball before deciding to pursue football in 2021.

This year she has starred for Southport in the QAFLW, most recently claiming the Best on Ground medal in Sunday’s Premiership victory.

“Kaylee is a key defender with great speed, competitiveness and the ability to intercept mark,” AFLW List Manager, Dan Fisher, said.

“At 20 years of age and having only just started playing footy in 2021, we’re excited by the rate of improvement she’s shown in a short space of time.

“She’s a bright personality, who has been a pleasure to get to know and we believe will fit in well with our group.”

Kimber replaces injured defender Mua Laloifi who moves to the Inactive List following an ACL injury.
