The Footscray Bulldogs have come out victorious over the Casey Demons at Mission Whitten Oval on Friday afternoon in a commanding performance.
The Dogs stood tall all day, emerging triumphant in the 19.10 (124) to 10.8 (68) defeat over the Demons.
From the onset, the boys in the red, white and blue set the tone for the match, all guns blazing in the opening term.
The Dogs’ pressure and ball movement kept Casey at bay, preventing the visitors from entering into forward 50 for the first half of the opening quarter.
Though the Demons were able to pick up the pace slightly in the second term, the Dogs remained on top to head into the main break with a 20-point buffer.
Footscray let the momentum dwindle slightly in the third, allowing the Dees to close in with three unanswered goals.
However, the Bulldogs were able to reassert themselves in the final term to finish out the match in style, kicking away with four straight goals.
Ryley Sanders came out firing from the get-go, finishing with three goals and 39 disposals, while Jack Macrae was the highest ball-winner on field, racking up a remarkable 43 disposals and 10 clearances.
The Bulldogs will now turn to face Frankston for their clash next Sunday at Kinetic Stadium.
