Two of the VFL’s form sides will face off on Saturday when the Footscray Bulldogs line up against North Ballarat at Simonds Stadium.

Both sides can boast an extended winning streak with Footscray seeking their sixth consecutive win while the Roosters will be eyeing their seventh ton continue a mid-season purple patch.

The two sides met in round five earlier in the season, where it was the Roosters that prevailed by two-points in wintery conditions at Eureka Stadium in Ballarat.

The Bulldogs have not lost a game since their away visit to Ballarat, while the victory was the first of the Roosters’ current streak.

On that occasion Brett Goodes, Fletcher Roberts and Mitch Jensen were amongst the Bulldogs’ best.

Both sides have proven form over top-four sides and premiership contenders, with the Bulldogs upsetting league leaders Port Melbourne and North Ballarat recording victory over reigning premiers Box Hill Hawks in recent weeks.

After making his debut last week, Will Hayes has been named as the 23rd man for Footscray and will continue to gain exposure at senior VFL level.

The final team will be determined on Friday afternoon, with the AFL side scheduled to confirm their extended squad at 5:00pm (AEST).
