The VFLW Bulldogs have secured a hard-fought victory against North Melbourne this Saturday at Arden Street Oval in the last home and away match of the season.
After a dominant start from the Roos early on, the Dogs shifted the momentum to take away the win in the 6.7 (42) to 7.8 (50) affair.
The win also seals the Dogs’ first finals berth since 2019.
The Bulldogs struggled early in the first term, unable to exit from North Melbourne’s forward half.
However, the Dogs were able to turn the tables at the end of the first quarter with Keeley Hardingham converting the first goal for the red, white and blue, sparking a sequence of three unanswered goals to follow.
The second half saw a back-and-forth contest as the lead changed with every subsequent goal.
North Melbourne made a late push to seize control, but a strong Dogs side held up to take out the much-needed victory heading into finals.
Hardingham had a dominant performance, booting two goals and finishing as the highest ball-winner for the Dogs with 21 disposals.
Imogen Milford finished as the equal highest goal scorer, kicking three majors for the match.
The Bulldogs will now set their sights on the upcoming Qualifying Final against Williamstown this Sunday at DSV Stadium, Williamstown.
