The Western Bulldogs Community Foundation (WBCF) is thrilled to announce its certification as a social enterprise through Social Traders, a nationwide organisation dedicated to facilitating connections between social enterprises and social procurement investors.

Social Traders' certification standards are built upon extensive independent research and expertise, evaluating the legal, financial, and social impact of social enterprises.

By meeting the rigorous standards, WBCF has demonstrated its commitment to driving positive change and making a profound social impact, empowering communities and fostering social inclusion.

"We are proud to receive social enterprise certification through Social Traders," said Rachel Mills, WBCF Social Enterprise and Evaluations Manager.

"This accreditation recognises our ongoing efforts to create meaningful change and provides opportunities for partnerships that will amplify our impact in the community."

A social enterprise is an organisation that utilises commercial strategies to encourage revenue, but then redirects the flow of income back into the community to nurture positive growth where it is needed most.

“By transitioning to a social enterprise, the Foundation steps into a new era of community investment,” explained Ameet Bains, CEO of the Western Bulldogs.

“It allows the Foundation to move forward with a greater level of financial stability, keeping what already works and opening new doors for businesses to collaborate on programs focused on Health and Wellbeing, Diversity and Inclusion, and Youth Leadership."

Businesses that now choose to partner with the WBCF presents the opportunity to contribute to the Foundation's mission while fulfilling government procurement social enterprise targets.

By working together, businesses can support WBCF's revenue generation efforts, allowing for continued investment in vital community programs.
