Geelong premiership duo Matthew Scarlett and Cameron Mooney will join the Western Bulldogs as part-time specialist coaches for 2013.
Both Scarlett and Mooney will mentor and work closely with the Club’s defenders and forwards respectively as well as gain insights into player development from Brendan McCartney and his coaching team.

McCartney said the Club will benefit from the knowledge both Mooney and Scarlett have gained over careers that spanned 26 years collectively, including 505 games, six Premierships and seven All-Australian selections.
“Along with our current coaching staff, we are fortunate that people of this ilk want to come and help our Club get better,” McCartney said.
Mooney said he was looking forward to working with a young, emerging team and that the decision to begin his coaching career with the Bulldogs was an easy one, after spending a big part of his playing career with the Senior Coach.
“We’re lucky enough to have a great mate in Macca, so we were both pretty keen to get down here, and try to help him out as much as we can.
“The great thing about the Bulldogs is that they’re such a young group,” Mooney said.
The former Geelong pair will work with Brendan McCartney at the Club, one day a week over the course of the pre-season and season proper.
