Bulldogs midfielder Ed Richards has been judged best afield by the coaches in the Round 1 win over North Melbourne.

Richards polled a perfect 10 coaches’ votes following 30 disposals, seven clearances and 611 metres gained in the 16-point triumph at Marvel Stadium.

Bailey Dale was next best, receiving eight votes for a 29-disposal and two-goal effort.

Aaron Naughton (17 disposals, eight marks, three goals) and Tom Liberatore (28 disposals, eight tackles, nine clearances) both polled three votes each.
