The Western Bulldogs today announced the retirement of forward Zephaniah Skinner.

Drafted from Northern Territory Thunder with pick 88 in the 2010 National Draft, Skinner played eight career games and kicked five goals in two seasons at the Kennel.

List Manager, Jason McCartney said Skinner notified his teammates earlier today of his intent to return home to Noonkanbah in remote Western Australia and effectively retire from AFL football.

“Zephi, this morning, told his teammates that he will be retiring from AFL football and returning home to be with his family and community, where he feels a strong sense of responsibility.

“We really didn’t want to lose Zephi, as he is a well-liked person here, but respect his decision to return home to his family.

“We thank him for all his efforts and wish him every success in the future,” McCartney said.
