New Bulldogs coaches Matt Egan and Daniel Pratt have expressed their excitement about joining the Club’s coaching ranks for the 2024 season, supporting senior coach Luke Beveridge.
Egan arrives at the Club as the new Coaching and Performance Manager, while Pratt will lead the backline as an assistant coach, joining Brendon Lade (midfield) and Matt Spangher (forward) as line coaches.
The former All-Australian Egan was previously the Head of Development at Geelong and was thrilled to land at VU Whitten Oval.
“I am really excited to join the Bulldogs and begin working alongside some great coaches, staff and players at the Club,” Egan said.
“The Club is completely aligned in its direction both on and off the field, possessing an experienced coaching panel, exciting playing list and brand-new facility that can only benefit the entire football program.
“I’ve loved my time at Geelong as both a player and staff member and will treasure the memories over the past two years back at the Club. I wish Chris, the staff and players all the best for season 2024 and beyond.”
Pratt has spent the past decade in a variety of roles at the West Coast Eagles, most notably as the backline coach during the 2018 Premiership season.
“Speaking to Luke Beveridge and Chris Grant before I made the decision to move across to Victoria, they were really clear in what they wanted to achieve and continue building from a football sense,” Pratt said.
“The playing list is an exciting one and working with the backline is something that really appealed to me.
“I’ve spent the best part of a decade at West Coast and hopefully I can use my experience within that program to help the Club and players achieve their goals here at the Bulldogs.
“I’ve loved my time in WA and will be watching Simmo and the boys from afar in 2024.”
Both Egan and Pratt will join the football staff in returning to VU Whitten Oval in mid-November.
