Matthew Suckling is set to spend at least a month on the sidelines according to General Manager of Football Graham Lowe.
Suckling landed awkwardly in a first quarter marking contest in Saturday night’s win over Brisbane.
Speaking to westernbulldogs.com.au on Tuesday afternoon, Lowe indicated it was the resultant injury to Suckling’s ankle that will keep him sidelined for the longer period of time.
“Matty obviously came off during the game, we’ve had scans since and he has got a low-grade injury to his medial ligament of his knee, he said.
“He also has a high ankle sprain, so that’s going to take a little bit longer in terms of return, so we’re expecting a minimum of four weeks.”
Caleb Daniel will also miss Friday night’s top of the table match against North Melbourne, after calf tightness saw him withdrawn from the team to play Brisbane on Saturday night.
“Caleb had some calf tightness on our training run on Thursday, we’ve scanned him since and he has a minor calf injury that we’re managing.
“He won’t be available this weekend but we’re giving him every chance to be available for selection next week.”
