Shane Biggs and Luke Beveridge arrived at the Western Bulldogs within a month of each other and found themselves experiencing the same situation.
Biggs joined the Club in October through the off-season trade period, while Beveridge commenced at the Kennel as senior coach just weeks later.
The former Swans defender said it was comforting to arrive together.
“We both came at the same time so it’s a bit the same for both of us, a new place and new people to meet and get used to.”
Biggs said that although the two have had limited time together, he’s enjoying working under a coach who comes from a backline background.
“He’s helped it (Biggs’ game) already, in very limited time together obviously…
“His real defensive side of his coaching is sort of similar to how I play but I’m working with a lot of the other coaches like Rohan Smith… just trying to get my game better.”
Although Beveridge has had a tall task of imparting a new game plan in time for the 2015 season, Biggs says the playing group are adapting well to the new coach’s style.
“From the start of pre-season to now, it’s improved out of sight and it’s really exciting for everyone…
“In general we’re moving the ball a lot quicker and just trying to keep it going, also that real focus on that defensive side but helping each other out is one of the big focuses for pre-season so far.”
