The Western Bulldogs were outrun by five points against the Southern Saints on Saturday morning.

The Bulldogs looked favourable as they lead into the final quarter, although the Saints were too solid in the 4.7 (31) to 3.8 (26) affair. 

A quiet opening term by the Bulldogs led to an opportunity to reset in the next.

India Barker opened the Dogs' scoring in the second, slotting the set shot early, promptly followed by Mary Sandral kicking her first from short range to bring the Dogs within three points.

A magnificent five minutes of play saw VFLW debutant Tallia Pulcino rove the footy to give the Bulldogs a one goal-lead.

An anticipated final sprint to the finish line saw a scoreless term from the Bulldogs, ultimately letting the Saints run away by five points.

Tahlia Meier continued to be a stand-out collecting 19 touches and four clearances.

Sarah Skinner was not far behind, recording an impressive 18 touches, two clearances and six tackles.

Dominique Carbone continued her impressive season bagging 15 disposals and five clearances.

The Bulldogs will look for redemption as they take on Williamstown next Sunday 11:00am at ETU Stadium.
