To celebrate our Retro Round this Saturday, we asked fans to select the best Bulldogs team of the last 25 years. Over the next week, we’ll reveal the fan-voted team line-by-line.
Scott Wynd
Widely considered one of the best ruckman in the modern era, Scott Wynd’s crowning moment was claiming the 1992 Brownlow Medal in his time at the Bulldogs. The 201cm ruckman played 237 games for the Bulldogs, captaining the side for seven years, between 1994-2000. Wynd captured the Bulldogs best and fairest in 1992, alongside the Brownlow and All-Australian selection. The fine on-field leader was also named in the Bulldogs Team of the Century.
Tom Liberatore
Drafted as a Father/Son selection in the 2010 Draft, Tom Liberatore has crafted an outstanding career in the red, white and blue. Liberatore made an impact from the outset collecting 28 touches in his second game at the club, finding a regular spot in the team from 2011. Liberatore was part of the club’s second premiership in 2016, claiming the Charles Sutton Medal two years earlier in 2014. The 30-year-old continues to dominate, putting together a fantastic season for the Dogs, averaging 25 touches and seven clearances a game.
Tony Liberatore
Courage, determination and skill were the traits that made rover Tony Liberatore stand out during his time at the Western Bulldogs. Standing at 163cm, Liberatore was as tough as they come, finishing with an incredible 283 games for the red, white and blue. Liberatore claimed the coveted Brownlow Medal in 1990, before claiming the club’s fairest and best a year later. Liberatore also feature in the Bulldogs Team of the Century.
