The Western Bulldogs have secured forward Daisy Bateman on the final day of the AFLW Sign and Trade Period.

The Bulldogs received Bateman and pick 74 in the AFLW National Draft, parting ways with Pick 72 and 90 to North Melbourne.

The 22-year-old played 34 AFLW games for Kangaroos, with the crafty-forward set to boost the attacking options at Whitten Oval.

A foundation member of North Melbourne’s AFLW side, Bateman has slotted 22 goals over her career, and played 10 of a possible 11 matches this past season.

She was taken with North’s first selection in the 2018 draft with pick 25, making her debut in the Roos’ inaugural match in the opening round of the 2019 season.

Prior to AFLW, Bateman represented Collingwood VFLW and Oakleigh Chargers, earning selection in the NAB League Team of the Year and U18 All Australian side.

AFLW Bulldogs’ Head of List Management and Recruiting, Mick Sandry, said Bateman would be a great addition to the Kennel.

“Daisy comes across to us having played 34 AFLW games and her experience for her age will be a great addition to our group,” Sandry said.

“She is an excellent user of the football, has high footy IQ and is a proven goal kicker.”

The 2022 AFLW Sign & Trade period commenced last Tuesday and will end today.
