Western Bulldogs defender Caleb Daniel says the Good Friday match against North Melbourne is one the group circles on their calendar every year.

For the second consecutive season, and third time since its inception in 2017, the Bulldogs have faced the Kangaroos on Good Friday.

Named the SuperClash this year, the match aims to raise much-needed funds for the Royal Children’s Hospital and Good Friday Appeal.

“It means a lot – to be able to put some smiles on some young kids’ faces, and hopefully raise a fair bit of money for a good cause is huge,” Daniel told media on Tuesday.

“We always circle this event on the calendar every year - we’re really appreciative of the AFL to give us that timeslot versus a great team in North.

“It’s been great the last few years – being able to come out and play in front of a really packed crowd so hopefully we get that again.

“It’s been trying circumstances the last couple of years, but this year hopefully people can bring their families, bring their friends and put some smiles on some kids faces and really enjoy the day.”

Despite external concerns about the Bulldogs’ goalkicking efficiency and win-loss ratio of 1-3, Daniel said the group is confident their best footy isn’t far away.

“It’s a massive cliché to take it one week at a time, but we are 1-3 and so are North so it’s a massive game for both teams,” he said.

“Anytime you have a big win it gives you a little bit of confidence, but we know that North are a great team and a great young side and will play some flamboyant footy and a really attacking game style.

“(The inaccuracy) is frustrating at times, but no-one’s going out there to miss a kick or miss the goals. We’re trying our hardest and that’s the main thing.

“It’s positive that we’re getting the ball down there and having shots on goal and getting it inside 50. Hopefully that turns around pretty quickly.”

The Good Friday SuperClash calls on all superheroes, super fans and super fundraisers to show up in support of the Good Friday Appeal this Friday afternoon.

The first bounce will be at 4.20pm at Marvel Stadium, with $5 from every ticket sold going towards the Appeal.
