Western Bulldogs duo Aaron Naughton and Bailey Smith have polled votes in the opening round of the 2022 season.
Naughton received six votes for his four-goal and six-mark performance in the 26-point loss to Melbourne, while Smith earned four votes after registering 33 disposals, seven marks, 11 tackles and eight clearances.
They were the two sole Bulldogs to poll, with Dees Christian Petracca, Ben Brown, Clayton Oliver and Ed Langdon rounding out the votes.
The AFLCA AFL Champion Player of the Year award is voted by the 18 coaching panels on a 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 basis after each home-and-away game.
