Key Plays:

Bob Murphy, Ryan Griffen and Mitch Wallis were the catalyst of a number of forward plays in the final term.

Easton Wood seems to have gained confidence with an extra pre-season under his belt and was spoiling and defending with more intent - a sensational mark also highlighted his capabilities as a more permanent member of the Bulldogs back six this season.

A spectacular Luke Dahlhaus goal showed that he has not missed a beat over the break, while his defensive pressure was first rate for extended periods of the game.

One to watch:

A ripping Clay Smith super goal sealed his game and put the Bulldogs back in front of Hawthorn late in the fourth quarter. His defensive play and attack was first rate all day and confirmed that he is set to make a bigger impact in 2013.
