Western Bulldogs defenders Easton Wood and Lindsay Gilbee will be back in the selection mix this weekend after stints on the sideline with respective hamstring and knee injuries.

Medical Services Manager Andrew McKenzie says Wood will be making his case for a return to the Bulldogs’ back six against Sydney while Gilbee is likely to return through the VFL.

“We have two players back for availability Lindsay Gilbee and Easton Wood, so it is good to have both of those back on track,” McKenzie said.

“Gilbee has had a longer rehab so I expect he will come back and play some time in the VFL this week.”

Liam Picken suffered a knock to the eye during Friday night’s clash against Geelong but McKenzie is positive he will be right to play next weekend.

“Liam had a cut underneath the eye which required some stitches with the doctor - he will be fine to play this week so he is back and on top of things already,” he said.

Meanwhile, Ayce Cordy is also another that McKenzie believes will be available for selection this week after his late withdrawal against the Cats.

“He didn’t quite get up after the six day break and travel home from Darwin - he came out a bit sore and we decided not to take a risk and play him,” he said.
