Western Bulldogs skipper Ellie Blackburn has been tipped to win the 2022 AFLW Best and Fairest award in a three-player tie, as voted by her peers in the annual AFLW captain’s survey.

Blackburn received two votes alongside reigning medallists Brianna Davey (Collingwood) and Kiara Bowers (Fremantle).

The 26-year-old and three-time All Australian finished equal-runner up in the count last year.

Spearhead Isabel Huntington was voted by two players to claim the leading goalkicker award, behind Collingwood’s Chloe Molloy (four votes) and Carlton’s Darcy Vescio (three votes).

As part of the anonymous survey, all 14 captains were also asked to predict the premiership winning team and Rising Star winner, and identify their best dual-sport athlete.
