Western Bulldogs trio Marcus Bontempelli, Jack Macrae and Bailey Dale have all been named in the 2021 Therabody All Australian Squad.
Bontempelli, Macrae and Dale have all had outstanding individual seasons to be named in the initial squad of 40.
The final team will be revealed on Thursday night.
Bontempelli – the Bulldogs’ skipper – is in the frame for his fourth All Australian blazer, after previously earning selection in 2016, 2019 and 2020.
The 25-year-old has played all 22 home-and-away games, averaging 27.2 disposals and 5.5 clearances per game.
He has kicked 26 goals for the season and rates in the elite category for stats including inside-50s (5.5), score involvements (7.5) and metres gained (545.8) per game.
Macrae is in contention for a third successive honour – after being named in the All Australian team in 2019 and 2020.
The 27-year-old has again found the ball at will in 2021, playing every game and averaging 33.8 disposals per game.
He is rated as elite in categories including clearances (6.8), score involvements (7.1) and effective disposals (25.7).
Dale is in line for his maiden All Australian selection after making a seamless transition to the Bulldogs’ back line in 2021.
The 25-year-old has played every game, averaging 24.5 disposals and 5.3 rebound 50s per game.
He is rated as elite in categories including effective disposals (19.7), metres gained (528.5) and score involvements (4.5).
