The Western Bulldogs are just one win off equalling their record number of triumphs in a V/AFL season.
Since gaining entry to the VFL in 1925, the Bulldogs have only ever recorded 16 wins on two occasions – in the 1985 and 1992 seasons.
In both years, the Dogs finished in second position on the ladder and progressed as far as the third week of finals.
A win against Port Adelaide this Friday night would not only see the fourth-placed Bulldogs bounce back after consecutive losses, but would also go a long way in securing a double-chance in finals.
It would also mark senior coach Luke Beveridge’s 90th win at the helm.
A loss however, could see the side drop to fifth - pending Brisbane defeats West Coast and closes the percentage gap.
What may bring back fond memories for Dogs’ fans though, is the last time they finished a home-and-away season with a win-loss record of 15-7.
That was 2016, and we all know how that played out.
