Former Woodville-West Torrens midfielder Lachie McNeil became a Bulldog via pick 11 in the 2020 AFL Rookie Draft. Having been overlooked in the previous draft, McNeil turned his attention to the SANFL competition – playing every senior game for the Eagles, including the premiership win, while averaging 18 disposals and four tackles. A tough on-baller with clean hands and good speed, McNeil managed 13 senior games in 2023 to take his overall tally to 42.
