Lin Jong, Tom Campbell and Joel Hamling have all been named on an extended bench ahead of the Western Bulldogs clash with Hawthorn on Sunday afternoon.

The trio join the Bulldogs' 22 that secured victories over Fremantle and St Kilda in the opening two rounds of the season, in the squad for the round three match.

Assistant coach Daniel Giansiracusa says that Lin Jong has earnt his inclusion in the squad after some strong performances during VFL practices matches over the past couple of weeks.

“Jongy’s had some really good form at VFL level, as well as a couple of the guys, but when you’ve had two really strong performances like we’ve had, it’s pretty hard to change the side.

“The competitiveness for spots is great and that’s what we want the footy club to be like.”

Lachie Hunter and Shane Biggs, who both inked new deals during the week have also been named in the extended, squad, Hunter joins 50-gamer Jason Johannisen on a wing, and Biggs on a half-back flank.
