A date for the 2021 NAB AFL Women’s Draft has been set, as announced by the AFL last week.

The Draft will be held on Tuesday 27 July at 6.45pm, with the Draft nomination period to open on Monday 21 June for three weeks.

Clubs are required to nominate any father-daughter players by 2pm on Tuesday 20 July, with the Club matching period to occur on Wednesday 21 July.

The AFLW Draft remains state-based, with players who nominate for the Draft electing the State they wish to play in.

The Bulldogs currently hold three early second-round selections in picks 22, 25 and 27, and 43 (13, 15, 17 and 26 in the Victorian draft pool) in next month’s Draft.

The AFL has also announced the names of the 2021 NAB AFLW Draft Combine invitees, which includes GWV Rebels trio Ella Friend, Tahlia Meier and Nyakoat Dojiok, plus Western Jet Jemima Woods, who featured for the VFLW Bulldogs this season.

Further details for the Draft Combine will be confirmed shortly.

The trade component of the 2021 AFLW Sign and Trade period concluded last Wednesday, with the final AFLW Draft Order to be confirmed on Friday 25 June following the final list lodgement for AFLW Clubs.

Rookie Signing Period:

Closes on Wednesday July 21, 2.00pm

Please note: This will also be the closing period for the Gold Coast SUNS and Geelong Cats to add up to two mature aged players to their lists, per the special assistance provided by the AFL Commission last month.
