Western Bulldogs captain Marcus Bontempelli has earned maximum votes in the 2021 AFLCA Champion Player of the Year award, for the third time this season.

Bontempelli polled a perfect 10 for his impact in Saturday night’s 111-point win over St Kilda, which included 26 touches, 797 metres gained, eight inside 50s and a career-best four goals.

It propels him to equal-second in the overall count with 50 votes, just two behind Melbourne’s Clayton Oliver.

Bailey Dale was recognised with six votes for his 34-disposal, eight-intercept and two-goal performance across half-back, while Aaron Naughton received five votes for his five goals and nine marks.

Tom Liberatore (four votes), Alex Keath (three votes) and Jordon Sweet (two votes) rounded out the Bulldogs’ clean sweep.
