The VFLW Bulldogs were on the wrong end of the ledger this morning, going down to Williamstown by 16 points in their round four clash at VU Whitten Oval.
A slow start saw eight Williamstown behinds scored in the opening term, before the Dogs were able to get on the board in the second quarter through Nikita Wright.
Eliza Vale and Annabel Scott contributed with one each in the second half, but by then Williamstown had corrected their earlier inaccuracy and done enough to secure the win.
First-year skipper Riley Christgoergl was the Bulldogs’ best for her efforts in the backline, with AFLW-listed player Bailey Hunt and forward Vanessa Murphy also impressing.
The Western Bulldogs now sit with a 1-3 record, with a home battle against Geelong awaiting next Saturday afternoon.
