Western Bulldogs leader Kirsty Lamb says the group will have a ‘do-or-die’ attitude heading into what could be their final two games of the 2021 NAB AFLW season.

The AFLW Bulldogs went down to North Melbourne by 11 points on Saturday evening, leaving them a game outside the top six.

Lamb, who finished the day with 21 disposals, five marks and five tackles, hopes the group can apply the learnings into next week’s clash against Adelaide.

“This one hurts – we knew coming into the last couple of weeks we’d probably have to win two out of three to make finals, so I guess looking forward it’s sort of a do-or-die attitude now that we need to win the last two,” Lamb told westernbulldogs.com.au post-match.

“I think it comes down to attitude and the belief that yeah we’re young but we’ve got the most talented group we can ask for.

“I just hope that the girls walk away from this match knowing that we can still do it, and still put plenty of good footy in - we had lapses at times and when we’re playing good sides they hurt us and find a way to score.

“For us it’s about not having those little lapses, and believing that we can win.”

Lamb praised the work rates and development of young defenders Eleanor Brown and Katie Lynch.

“I actually grabbed both of them as we walked off and said ‘bloody good game girls’,” Lamb said.

“They just read the ball really, really well, and they do a heap of extras at training - I think that is starting to show in their performances that they read the ball really well, they intercept well, and they link up quite well together.

“I’m really happy for two young kids to be working together on their skills and showing it out there.”

The AFLW Bulldogs will meet Adelaide at Norwood Oval next Sunday, before their final home game of the season against Richmond at VU Whitten Oval on Friday, March 26.
