Western Bulldogs AFLW head coach Nathan Burke says he is already looking forward to the challenge of facing Adelaide next week.
Burke said despite the 11-point defeat to North Melbourne on Saturday evening, his group will take plenty of learnings into their next match.
"We learnt from playing a really good team last week that half a game isn’t good enough – you need to play a full game, (and) they put that into action which is great,” Burke told westernbulldogs.com.au post-match.
“The learning from playing a good team today was you need to play four quarters, but you can’t have lapses for short periods – and that’s what we did. We lapsed and we didn’t take our chances going forward.
“I’m actually pretty happy that we’re playing another good team like the Crows – there’s no bigger challenge at the moment than going to Adelaide and playing Adelaide.”
Burke said facing Adelaide away will indicate where his side sits heading into what could be their last outing of the 2021 season.
“I think we learnt from Collingwood and put that into action today, we learnt from today and will put that into action hopefully next week,” Burke said.
“That will give us a really good gauge on where we are at and where we really need to work on for the rest of the season.
“The fact is there’s two games to go – if we win those two games then we potentially play some more games after that which would be nice but while we lost and we’re down, I think there’s some really good learnings to come from the game.”
The AFLW Bulldogs will face Adelaide at Norwood Oval on Sunday, March 21.
