On Sunday 28th June the Western Bulldogs not only went home with a win, but because of two kind Bulldogs members a man made it home safely, after what could have been a fatal accident.

The drama began when a local, encountered problems when his motorised wheelchair at Southern Cross station and was thrown over the edge of the train platform onto the tracks. Immediately, Bulldogs members Bobby Hall and Peter Clemmens rushed to the man’s aid and were able to rescue him in the nick of time.
Lifetime Bulldogs members Hall and Clemmen’s said they didn’t think twice about rushing to the stranger’s aid and Mr. Clemmens said “We would do it again without question”.

Mr Hall, a former paramedic jumped onto the tracks to the man’s aid whilst Mr Clemmens ran to the end of the platform to stop the oncoming train.
Rail Operator Connex praised the men and a representative said the men represented a heroic slice of society.

The Western Bulldogs celebrated the bravery of these members by inviting them to be special guests at the Presidents Function, where the men were personally addressed and celebrated with certificates of appreciation from Club President David Smorgon on behalf of the entire Western Bulldogs Football Club.
