The ultra-consistent Jack Macrae delivered again for the Western Bulldogs in 2020.
Macrae enjoyed a stellar season, adding a second All Australian honour to his list of accolades.
He also recorded a seventh-consecutive top-10 finish in the Bulldogs’ best and fairest with a fourth-place finish in 2020, following top-three finishes in each of the three previous seasons.
And with 15 votes in the Brownlow Medal count, he produced a career-best equal-fifth finish.
Macrae is undoubtedly one of the Bulldogs’ most important players – and his stats again saw him ranked among the AFL’s elite midfielders.
He averaged 26.3 disposals per game in shortened quarters, the most by any Bulldog and the fourth-most of any player in the competition, behind Brownlow Medallist Lachie Neale, Collingwood’s Adam Treloar and Essendon’s Zach Merrett.
With 16.6 uncontested possessions per game, he also ranked fourth in the competition – with teammate Lachie Hunter (18.7) leading the way in the category.
Macrae had more score involvements, effective disposals and handballs than any other Bulldog – and was joint leader in contested possessions with Tom Liberatore – and ranked in the top-five for the club in a host of key statistics areas.
That included kicks (205, third), inside-50s (76, second), metres gained (5817, fourth), ground ball gets (140, second), tackles (72, second) and pressure acts (294, second).
