Clay Smith will make his AFL return after nearly 12 months on the sidelines, confirmed as one of four big inclusions for the Bulldogs' round four match against ladder-leaders Adelaide.
Smith was rewarded for his impressive 24-disposal performance in his return from a second knee reconstruction in the VFL last week, in which he was named Footscray’s best afield.
Smith joins Matthew Boyd, Marcus Bontempelli and Easton Wood as inclusions in the side, after all three missed round three’s match-up with the Hawks through injury.

Dale Morris and Mitch Wallis will both miss due to injuries sustained in the round three loss, while Brett Goodes and Will Minson have been omitted from the side.
Both Minson and Goodes have been named as emergencies, while draftee Bailey Dale has also been named as an emergency after being named yesterday on the extended interchange bench.
